Contacts

Different Granville records live with different offices. The detention center can address current county custody. The sheriff and city departments handle incident and records questions. The Clerk of Court handles case files and dates. NCDAC, BOP, and ICE apply only to their own custody populations. This page provides the official contact details located in the research; it is not a government office and cannot confirm custody or release a person.

Current County Custody

Granville County Detention Center
525 New Commerce Drive
Oxford, NC 27565
Phone: 919-693-3717

Use detention for a current custody question. The county did not publish a public roster or photo policy in the reviewed materials. A current answer can change after bond, release, transfer, court order, or medical movement. Ask what information can be released and record the time of the call.

Sheriff and Public Records

Granville County Sheriff's Office
Sheriff Robert D. Fountain Jr.
525 New Commerce Drive
Oxford, NC 27565
Main: 919-693-3213
Non-emergency: 919-690-0444
Public Information Officer / records contact: 919-925-3992

Use the county Public Records Requests page for a dated booking record or booking photograph request. Give the name, date range, arresting agency, record type, and preferred format. Ask for an estimate because the fee manual does not list a dedicated booking-photo copy fee.

Municipal Police Contacts

Agency Contact and best use
Oxford Police Department 204 E. McClanahan St., Oxford, NC 27565, 919-693-3161. Ask about the incident report.
Butner Public Safety 415 Central Avenue, Butner, NC 27509, 919-575-6561. Ask for the Records Clerk.
Creedmoor Police Department 111 Masonic Street, Creedmoor, NC 27522, 919-528-1515. Ask about the police-report desk or records form.

City incident records and county booking records are separate. A city police request does not automatically produce a detention photograph.

Courts and Other Custody

The Granville County Clerk and Judicial Branch page is the route for court dates, calendars, and eCourts links. The Clerk of Court phone listed in county information is 919-690-4800. Use the court system for disposition, not a private booking index.

For state prison, probation, or parole records, use NCDAC's offender search and public-records route. BOP handles federal inmate location, and ICE handles immigration detention. A person held in Granville County is not automatically in state, federal, or immigration custody.

Urgent and Anonymous Tips

Call 911 for an immediate threat. For information about a possible wanted person, Granville Crime Stoppers lists an anonymous tip line at 919-693-3100 and may offer rewards up to $2,000 under its current wording. Do not approach a person based on a post or photo.
